All Points East festival will return to Hackney’s Victoria Park, this summer, with headliners including Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The National, Tame Impala, The Chemical Brothers, Disclosure and Gorillaz.

The festival will run across two weekends: Friday August 19 to Saturday August 20 and Thursday August 25 to Sunday August 28.

During the week between the sets, locals can enjoy the festival atmosphere at a series of free events as part of a collaboration by Tower Hamlets Council, the community and local organisations. Activities in previous years have included food fairs, open-air screenings creative workshops, children’s theatre, circus shows and more.

In their only UK festival performance this summer, Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz headline on August 19 with support from indie rock band IDLES. August 20 is Field Day with dance sets from The Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk.

Tame Impala headline the following Thursday (August 25), with The National taking the top spot on August 26, supported by Fleet Foxes. You can catch electronic duo Disclosure with support including Charli XCX on Saturday August 27.

In another British festival exclusive, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds will headline on August 28, the final night of the festival, with support from Thom Yorke of Radiohead’s side project The Smile, Michael Kiwanuka and acclaimed poet Kae Tempest.

Radio 6 Music will be at festival with a stage curated by the station’s presenters. Gilles Peterson will choose the line-up on Friday 19 August, Mary Anne Hobbs on Saturday 20, Tom Ravenscroft on Thursday 25, AFRODEUTSCHE on Friday 26 August, Jamz Supernova on Saturday 27 and Don Letts on Sunday 28 August.

All Points East previously took place over the late May bank holiday, but shifted to August last year. The 2020 shows were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
